How activation works
- Create an account and verify your email.
- Start a free trial (or buy a license). Your license key appears under Licenses in your account.
- In DaVinci Resolve open the plug-in's LICENSE section, paste the key and press Activate.
- The plug-in receives a signed license file for that computer and remembers it, encrypted, in your user profile.
- About once a day the plug-in quietly checks in. If you are offline it keeps working for up to 14 days from the last check.
Offline use
Rendering never needs the Internet. The plug-in checks its signed license file locally. If it cannot reach the server it keeps working until the offline period ends, and tells you exactly when. If you set your clock back, it asks for an online check.
Devices
A license allows a limited number of active devices (3 for standard licenses). To move to a new computer, deactivate the old one in Dashboard > Devices or from the plug-in itself. The device identifier is a salted one-way hash; we do not receive your computer name.
